In my own viewpoint, within the 4th and 5th deciles are shares that you may not want to ever think of trading, or what i call short-term investing. Due to the fact that they have not been profitable for the 1st half of the year, why should you park your money there? Always go with accordance to the trend, riding the wave is imperative for money making more money. However, there are still a few decent counters in this range worthy to take note of. For example, Chartered, StatsChP, Singtel, Capitamall and CityDev.
In terms of performance, my ideal counters for this year would be the likes of SGX, Kepcorp and property weights such as Capitaland.
